Symposium Sommarøy
We are excited to announce that Bathysphere has expanded northwards, with the creation of a local committee in Tromsø this year.
We can now officially invite you to the 4th Bathysphere (Deep-Sea) Science Symposium on 15 & 16 October 2026, at Sommarøy Arctic Hotel, Sommarøy, Norway!
The two-day symposium will consist of both plenary sessions and workshops with interdisciplinary participants and will encompass overarching themes such as monitoring change in the deep-sea, deep-sea management, emerging technologies & methodologies, and deep-sea research across regions. A preliminary program will be sent later on.
The symposium will be significantly subsidized, but a registration fee will still be required (more details to follow, likely ~1500 NOK ). Meals, a 1-night stay, and transportation from Tromsø to and from Sommarøy will be included in the registration fee.
